The Longest Night

Now available, an outstanding new limited edition giclee print from Nicholas Watts featuring the Porsche 917LH from Le Mans 1970! This edition is limited to only 75 total prints worldwide, each signed and numbered by the artist and personally signed by the following legendary drivers: Vic Elford, Kurt Ahrens, Gerard Larousse, Willy Kaushen, Richard Attwood, Hans Herrmann, Rudi Lins, Helmut Marko and Jean-Pierre Hanrioud.

This stunning edition, titled "The Longest Night", depicts the Salzburg Team Porsche 917LH of Vic Elford and Kurt Ahrens battling the similar long tail Martini Porsche of Gerard Larrousse and Willy Kauhsen at dusk in what was the wettest Le Mans for many years. Although leading the race and with Vic Elford becoming the first driver in Le Mans history to turn in a lap in excess of 150mph average speed, the white #25 was eventually forced into retirement.

The #3 car eventually finished second behind the winning Porsche 917K of Richard Attwood and Hans Herrmann, which is shown in the color study in the lower left margin of the print. Portrayed in the right hand study is the third place class winning Porsche 908 of Rudi Lins and Helmut Marko.

The overall size of this print is 24x29.5 and it is priced at $425.95 plus shipping.
